Politics

Here I will dive into the world of politics.  I will do my best to provide my thoughts or links to news that I consider important to share with you.

Everyone seems to be in their own bubble…protected from any contrary or dissenting view, no matter how factual it may be.  This is especially true of politics.

If there is a group of people (no matter what political party affiliation) who only watch a biased network (no matter which one) where they never get an unbiased, factual presentation of events, and who surround themselves and their social media feeds with the same, you insulate yourself from what may very well be the truth and condition yourself to ignore or outright deny anything else you are presented with, no matter how factual it is.  There will never be a point where you are open to communication and problem solving.

How can we ever hear each other and come together to create compromise and real change if we never sit down at the table and talk like adults?  Stakes are far too high to continue the same old tit-for-tat juvenile politics.  Is there any way to stop the nonsense and come to the table with a clean slate?

When Will the Disrespect of the Will of the People End?

How can you take the Federal Tax dollars of an entire city and not allow them to have any representation as to where or how those tax dollars are spent?  The residents of Washington, D.C. are getting a raw deal and have been for decades.  Residents are treated as second class citizens who are only good for their tax dollars, but aren’t given a voice.  All other citizens of this country enjoy equal representation in the House and Senate, with one exception: citizens of Washington, D.C.

D.C. residents are number one per capita in taxes paid to support the government of the United States, but do not have a vote on the House floor.  The the District is the only capital city in the developed world that does not have representation in the national government.

Taxation without representation equates to extortion or at the very least, tyranny.

This is yet another slap in the face of the residents of the District of Columbia: GOP House chair: Maybe we should cut off part of D.C. and send it back to Maryland

I strongly urge residents as well as friends of other jurisdictions to join the movement to bring true democracy to the District of Columbia.

Support DCVote: http://www.dcvote.org/

DC Vote envisions a fairer America where residents of the nation’s capital are first class citizens. This will be evidenced by the District of Columbia gaining the freedom to control its own budget, pass its own laws without congressional interference, and having its citizens enjoy equal representation in the US House of Representatives and the US Senate.

The Johnson Amendment

She Was Confirmed?!?

How are Senators whom she has donated to politically, able to cast votes for her?  Shouldn’t they have to recuse themselves or simply not be allowed to vote?  This is wrong on so many levels.
